Society Fellow, Ann Clay was asked to judge a painting competition of work from the U3A based on Byron and his love of Venice, shown as part of the Hucknall Byron Festival. The festival takes place every year due to Byron being interred at St Mary's church in Hucknall. There are many family events and music in the church including brass band music by the Newstead Brass Band.
